We have no male characters in our opening, we did this as we wanted the lead to be female to oppose the traditional stereotype of having male leads in thrillers. Woman are commonly portrayed as being dependent on men in thrillers, we wanted to change this. Lead female characters in thrillers often have masculine traits, we oppose this in our opening. In thrillers younger female characters are often portrayed as being weak and vulnerable, this is no different from our thriller .
Mathilda in Leon opposes the traditional stereotype of female representation in thrillers.
